Outi Mäkinen is the Co-Founder of BioMush. Outi has an extensive background as a researcher and experience for over 10 years in academic and applied research. She has previously worked at Valio and award-winning Gold & Greens, producer of Pulled Oats. Currently, Outi serves as the Chief Technical Officer of BioMush and leads the research team.

Kaisa Karhunen is the dynamic CEO of BioMush and an experienced leader in the food industry. With almost 25 years of experience, Kaisa has worked in global companies such as Valio, Unilever, Sodexo, and Findus in various management positions.

Kaisa joined BioMush in 2022 with a mission to revolutionize the food industry. Her extensive background and visionary leadership drive BioMush to the forefront of sustainable and innovative food solutions.

Anniina Valtonen works as the R&D Manager at BioMush. Before joining the company, Anniina was a research scientist at VTT, and also has a background in microbiology from the University of Helsinki. Anniina’s expertise lies in harnessing the potential of filamentous fungi for food and biomaterials and designing plant-based foods where fermentation enhances flavor and texture.

Heidi Gabucan is BioMush’s Research Scientist. With a Master’s degree in Food Sciences at University of Helsinki, she has extensive experience in food processing, quality assurance, and R&D. Before BioMush Heidi has worked in different research projects at University of Helsinki and in collaboration with VTT, Valio, and Raision tutkimussäätiö.

Tuisku Immonen is BioMush’s talented Development Engineer. Tuisku is involved in developing and designing the BioMusher, among other responsibilities in R&D and commercial operations. Tuisku’s background is in biotechnology and a specialization in scaling fermentation processes in bioreactors.
